Happened
A visual and philosophically sensual journey through landscapes transformed by regenerative practices.
Through powerful photography captured on his land and across the world, Del documents what becomes possible when we remove interference and allow nature to do what it was designed to do.
— Del Ficke
Happened
The photos in this collection were taken within a mile of Del’s home in the Central Plains of the United States, on his own land, and a few others on his many travels worldwide. The subjects of each image are living testimony to the fact that when we become smart enough or simple enough to get out of the way of nature, true expressions of the environment — and oneself — happen.
The book brings together photography and perspective shaped by more than 40 years as an agriculturalist. Each image captures life as it unfolds without human interference, revealing the resilience, balance, and beauty that exponentially propagates when nature is given space to do what it was designed to do.
The collection of images was designed to bloom into a powerful statement:
“When I stopped working against Mother Nature, her natural beauty returned on her own terms.”
— Del Ficke
Book Offers
A magical nature walk with Plainsman photographer Del Ficke and his hyper-detailed lens that uniquely and artfully captures what he continues to witness manifesting on his land when he stopped agricultural practices that were harmful to nature.
“This is a photo book with a thoughtfully-placed scattering of sensual word seeds. My grandpa was a lover. He found the truest forms of love expressed in nature. As great lovemaking goes, so goes nature. Too many words just get in the way.”
— Del Ficke —
This book is for anyone willing to pause, observe, and see the world differently. It travels far beyond the farm — into beauty, consciousness, and the quiet truth that we are all connected by the land beneath us.
— Del Ficke

Thought
These conversations are not meant to end when the talk does.
They are meant to carry forward, into the way we think, the way we work, and the way we choose to move ahead.
Because sometimes, a shift in perspective is where everything begins.
